Tithi (Lunar Day)
o
Shukl Paksh Ashtami –
In Vedic astrology, this is the eighth day of the waxing phase of the moon (Shukl
Paksh). When Shukl Paksh Ashtami falls on a Monday, it is considered a highly
significant and spiritually charged day.
o
It combines the divine feminine energy of the
Goddesses with the emotional and intuitive qualities of the Moon (which governs
the mind and emotions).
o
Ashtami is primarily dedicated to the fierce
form of Goddess Parvati and protective feminine powers—including Goddesses
Durga, Varahi, and Pratyangira.
o
The Moon is the ruling planet of Monday; the
combined energy of the lunar day and its ruling planet is believed to destroy
the effects of past negative karma and usher in prosperity.
o
In other words, this Yog is excellent for
calming a restless mind, removing mental obstacles, and seeking protection
against the adverse effects of planets.
o
The Ashtami of the Shukl
Paksh also known as 'Masik Durgashtami,' as it is considered the most
auspicious day of the month for worshipping Goddess Durga. The Masik
Durgashtami fast is observed every month on this day.
o
Even if you are unable to observe the fast, you
should certainly worship Goddess Durga to ensure that her blessings always
remain upon you and your family.
Nakshatra
o
Uttara Phalguni –
This Nakshatra spans two zodiac signs: Leo and Virgo. Its ruling planet is the
Sun, and its symbol represents the back legs of a bed. It governs leadership,
responsibility, financial planning, and long-lasting partnerships.
o
It is also a 'fixed' (Sthir) Nakshatra—these
Nakshatras are favourable for activities requiring stability and long-term
objectives, such as planting trees, purchasing property, laying the foundation
for buildings, and constructing homes or factories.
o
From a health perspective – It governs bodily
organs such as the spine, intestines, and liver. Individuals born under this
Nakshatra may be prone to ailments such as spotted fever, pain, blood pressure
issues, fainting, insanity, cerebral blood clots, abdominal disorders, sore
throat, and intestinal tumors.
o
Therefore, if a malefic planet (such as the lord
of the 64th Navamsh or the 22nd Dreshkan) or a naturally malefic planet is
positioned in an adverse house, the individual may suffer from one of these
ailments during its Dasha- Antar dasha (planetary period). Planetary transits
play a crucial role in manifesting the outcomes determined by past karma. This
is another cause of health problems in their lives.
o
Such natives feel at ease in roles involving
rights, contracts, and public welfare—such as diplomacy, law, HR, public
administration, government service, medicine, defense, shipping, stock exchange
operations, cardiology, tourism, engineering, contracting, agency work, public
health, and birth and death registration.
Yog
o
Vyatipat –
This Yog carries the potential for sudden accidents and reversals of fortune;
the individual may be fickle and unreliable. Its presiding deity is Lord Rudra
(the fierce and destructive form of Lord Shiv), and it is associated with the
shadow planet Rahu; it often creates an atmosphere of cosmic tension and
conflict. The term signifies "disaster" or "sudden
downfall." According to traditional texts, one should strictly avoid
undertaking major tasks during this period, as worldly investments or marriages
initiated at this time may encounter unexpected challenges.
o
It has been observed that individuals born under
this Yog often face difficulties in speech; at times, they may utter harsh
words or make controversial statements.
o
It is believed that performing acts of charity
or service on the day of Vyatipat multiplies one's spiritual merit manifold. To
mitigate its inauspicious effects, it is specially recommended to chant
mantras, practice meditation, and worship Lord Shiva.
Points to Note
o
The convergence of
Monday, the Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra, and the Vyatipat Yog creates an
astrologically contradictory period. While Monday fosters emotional energy and
the Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra is considered favourable for planning, the
Vyatipat Yog is highly inauspicious for initiating any new task; therefore, it
is best to avoid worldly activities or starting new ventures during this time.
Karan
o
BAV – This is
a dynamic (movable) phase associated with creative and administrative energy.
It is primarily ruled by Lord Indra and Lord Vishnu, with the Sun as its
planetary lord.
o
The conjunction of the BAV Karan with the Uttara
Phalguni Nakshatra (ruled by the Sun and Aryaman) on a Monday creates a
spiritually potent, practical, and highly auspicious astrological alignment.
This combination blends the Moon's intuitive understanding with the Sun's
leadership qualities, making it excellent for new beginnings, healing, and
spiritual endeavours.
o
This Karan is ruled by Lord Indra and is
associated with the Leo (Lion) element; it is considered a very auspicious Karan.
It is highly favourable for starting new projects, performing religious
rituals, and taking on creative or intellectual challenges. People under this
influence are generally spiritually inclined and hardworking.
o
Remedy for today –
Considering the adverse effects of Vyatipat Yog and the intense influence of
the Sun, reciting the Aditya Hridaya Stotra and performing acts of charity will
help align better with the energies of the Sun and Aryaman.
Please note –
o
It has been observed that most astrologers do
not pay attention to the significance of 'Karan'. This is the most overlooked
component of the Panchang. Furthermore, no attention is paid to the synergy
(whether positive or negative) resulting from the combination of Tithi, Vara,
Nakshatra, and Yog etc., on a particular day.
o
It is the Karan that indicates the practical
outcomes for a specific day.
o
The Tithi reflects
the mood, the Yog signifies the atmosphere or background tone, and the Karan
reveals how a task will be accomplished—whether quickly, slowly, chaotically,
neatly, with interruptions, or suddenly.
o
You can practice a very simple ritual daily (or
for at least 40 days): before starting any task, sit for two minutes, chant "Om Ganapataye Namah" (or any mantra
dedicated to Lord Ganesha) 21 times, and then begin your most important work.
This is effective because 'Karan' signifies action, and Lord Ganesha removes
the obstacles that arise during work.
o
Once a person begins to understand the role of
'Karan,' they stop blaming themselves for days when work slows down and start
timing their efforts more effectively.
